Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to support a U.S.-based law firm. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with personal injury case management, client intake, and civil litigation discovery.

Experience supporting California-based law firms is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. Personal Injury Case Management

• Support personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, and other injury claims.
• Manage case files from initial intake through settlement or litigation.
• Organize medical records, bills, accident reports, insurance information, and case documents.
• Prepare demand packages, case summaries, and medical chronologies.
• Coordinate with clients, insurance carriers, medical providers, attorneys, and third parties.
• Track case deadlines, medical treatment, records, and litigation milestones.

2. Client Intake & Case Development

• Conduct initial client intake and gather accident, injury, medical treatment, and insurance information.
• Communicate with prospective and existing clients to obtain necessary documentation.
• Follow up on medical treatment, appointments, records, and outstanding documents.
• Review intake information and identify missing details for attorney review.
• Maintain accurate client and case records.

3. Civil Litigation Discovery

• Prepare, propound, and respond to written discovery, including:
• Interrogatories
• Requests for Production
• Requests for Admission
• Draft discovery responses, objections, deficiency letters, and meet-and-confer correspondence.
• Review and analyze discovery responses and document productions.
• Identify incomplete, inconsistent, or deficient responses.
• Track discovery deadlines, extensions, and outstanding obligations.
• Assist with discovery disputes and motions to compel.

4. Legal Research & Litigation Support

• Conduct legal and factual research related to personal injury claims, liability, damages, and insurance coverage.
• Assist with pleadings, motions, declarations, exhibits, and deposition preparation.
• Prepare case chronologies, witness summaries, and document summaries.
• Organize evidence for depositions, mediation, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Monitor litigation deadlines and proactively identify issues requiring attorney attention.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on paralegal experience, preferably in personal injury litigation.
• Experience supporting personal injury cases for U.S.-based law firms; California experience is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with personal injury intake, case management, and medical records.
• Demonstrated experience preparing, propounding, and responding to written discovery, including Interrogatories, Requests for Production, and Requests for Admission.
• Experience drafting discovery responses, objections, deficiency letters, and meet-and-confer correspondence.
• Experience reviewing discovery responses and identifying deficiencies.
• Familiarity with pleadings, motions, demand packages, and medical chronologies.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and client communications independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and legal case management systems.
