Labor Law PC is a California plaintiff-side employment law firm. We represent employees against their employers in wage, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination cases. Our team is distributed internationally.
We're hiring a Law Clerk to support one of our California-licensed attorneys through the full litigation lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Draft pleadings, complaints, motions, and discovery requests under CA Superior Court and Federal Court rules
- Draft and respond to all forms of discovery
- Conduct legal research using LexisNexis and court databases
- Manage case deadlines, filings, update our case management CRM, and court docket monitoring
- Review and summarize depositions, discovery responses, medical records, and employment records
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Proactively drive cases forward, this is a role for someone who owns their caseload, not someone who waits for instructions
Required
- Licensed Philippine attorney with at least 3 years of active legal practice
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to work California business hours (overnight in the Philippines)
- Proficiency in AI tools and willingness to work in an AI-forward environment
- Strong legal writing, research, and case management skills
- Reliable home office setup and stable internet
Preferred
- Labor and employment law experience
- Prior experience at a US or California law firm
- Familiarity with US civil procedure and discovery
Compensation & Benefits
- $1,250 - $1,500 USD/month, based on experience.
- Health benefit reimbursement: Up to $100/month, beginning after 90 days of employment
- Paid vacation and sick leave beginning after 90 days of employment
- 8 paid holidays per year of your choice, prorated in the first year
- Performance bonus structure: Eligible after 6 months of employment
- Annual bonus: One month's pay, prorated in the first year
