Role Overview:

The Remedial Specialist is responsible for managing and resolving past-due loans and potential problem accounts. This role involves developing and implementing effective remedial strategies to minimize loan losses and maximize recoveries for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track past-due accounts, identifying high-risk accounts requiring immediate attention.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis of delinquent accounts to assess the borrower's financial situation and repayment capacity.
  • Develop and implement customized remedial action plans, including restructuring, rescheduling, or other appropriate measures.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with borrowers to understand their circumstances and explore potential solutions.
  • Conduct regular follow-up calls and meetings to encourage timely payments and address concerns.
  • Negotiate repayment plans and settlements, ensuring the companys interests are protected.
  • Manage the retrieval of overdue accounts through legal processes.
  • Act as the company's representative in court, filing complaints, and serving as a witness when necessary.
  • Provide comprehensive overall administrative support to the small claims case filing, including but not limited to drafting correspondence and demand letters.
  • Coordinate with the Legal Department on review of legal correspondence, demand letters, and other legal-related documents.
  • Safeguard and organize legal documents by saving them to files, ensuring accessibility, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate with different departments and within collections to gather all necessary requirements of filing small claim cases.
  • Supervise accounts in litigation, negotiating settlement plans with customers.
  • Generate reports on accounts and legal proceedings.
  • Safely organize and store necessary documents and evidence for case filing.
  • Provide insight within collections on how to improve the internal collections process to increase the probability of winning small claim cases.
  • Monitor market trends and economic conditions to identify potential risks and adjust remedial strategies accordingly.
  • Prepare regular reports on account performance, recovery rates, and other relevant metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide insights to management to inform decision-making and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong legal acumen and experience in handling legal proceedings.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and assess creditworthiness.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including loan servicing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling legal documents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
