Job Description

The Head of Remedial Management owns the full lifecycle of at-risk accounts — from early warning identification through workout, restructuring, settlement, and where necessary, legal recovery. This is not a reactive collections role. You will proactively design and execute resolution strategies for SME borrowers, working closely with the investment and legal teams, external counsel, and where relevant, the courts. You report directly to the President/COO and have authority to recommend write-offs, settlements, and legal action to the credit committee.

CORE MANDATE

WHAT YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • PAR30 and NPL containment across the ARQ portfolio
  • Proactive early warning system — flagging deterioration before default
  • Workout and restructuring strategies per account — negotiated, not templated
  • Legal recovery coordination: BP22, estafa, civil suits, and asset execution
  • Recovery rate targets reported quarterly to the credit committee and board
  • Settlement authority recommendations within board-approved thresholds

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Own the remedial watch list — build and maintain account-level action plans
  • Conduct direct borrower engagement for restructuring and settlement negotiations
  • Design repayment schemes, dacion arrangements, and asset recovery strategies
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel on BP22, civil, and enforcement proceedings
  • Prepare remedial management reports for credit committee and board review
  • Build internal remedial protocols, escalation matrices, and resolution playbooks
  • Work with the investment team on covenant breach triggers and early intervention

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • 10+ years in credit, collections, or remedial management in a Philippine NBFI, rural bank, thrift bank, or lending company
  • Hands-on experience with SME or mid-market borrower workouts
  • Working knowledge of BP22, Rule 68 foreclosure, extrajudicial remedies, and Philippine civil litigation process
  • Demonstrated recovery track record — not just case filing
  • Experience presenting to credit committees or boards
  • Strong negotiator — comfortable in direct, high-stakes borrower conversations
  • JD or legal background strongly preferred; CMAP accreditation a plus
