Reinsurance Treaty Consultant, Asia Reinsurance

Functional Overview

• Reinsurance operates as a core function, similar to Finance.

• Within this function, teams such as Reinsurance Administration perform work

which has some similarities to Insurance Operations (e.g., Eric's teams), including

engagement with partners regarding amounts owed.

• The new role sits in a newly established Asia-focused team, mirroring an existing

structure in North America. This team supports the end-to-end process of

developing and managing treaties with reinsurance partners.

Purpose of the Role

• Asia historically relied heavily on reinsurance partners to propose solutions. The

goal now is to internalize capability and establish stronger ownership across all

Asian markets.

• This role will manage the treaty development process for Asia, including:

o Project management and technical analysis

o Coordination with internal SMEs (actuarial, legal, risk, operations)

o Collaboration with external reinsurance partners

• The position is multi-disciplinary, combining technical, commercial, and

operational responsibilities.

• Strong ongoing support will come from the North America Treaty Management

Team (as Asia currently does not have a similar group based in Hong Kong).

Must-Have Skills

• Strong technical knowledge, ideally with experience in Reinsurance or Actuarial.

• Comfortable dealing with technical and conceptual topics related to reinsurance

treaties.

o Strong stakeholder management and soft skills

Experience Level

• 6–10 years overall experience in the insurance industry.

• At least 3 years directly related to reinsurance or actuarial work.
