Position Overview

Team Overview

The role is within the Finance Control Oversight (FCO) team. The FCO team is responsible for providing a portfolio view of risk across Finance and assisting in managing these risks against a defined risk appetite.

The role will support the APAC MEA Country CFOs and Senior Finance Stakeholders in implementing the SOx and Regulatory Reporting control frameworks

Your key responsibilities

  • Accounting and Financial Reporting control framework (SOx Framework) :
    • Assist in driving and delivering on the control agenda, as defined by the FCO mandate across the APAC MEA location
    • Providing linkage between the Global FCO Control framework owner with implementation into the APAC MEA location
    • Reporting and monitoring the status of all aspects of control remediation (Findings and Incident Management, SOx, Balance Sheet Substantiation, etc)
    • Delivering Finance focused control oversight training
    • Support the preparation, coordination, and delivery of the monthly APAC MEA Finance Risk and Control Forums
    • Escalate control deficiencies which are outside of appetite, in line with escalation thresholds
    • Develop and conduct scenario analysis, deep dives, lessons learnt/read across activities as required

  • Regulatory Reporting Framework
    • Providing linkage between the Global FCO Control framework owner with implementation into the APAC MEA location
    • Facilitate the Annual Regulatory Reporting attestation and Monthly Regulatory Adherence
    • Monitor and assess key risk indicators (KRIs) to identify emerging trends, highlight potential control gaps, and provide actionable insights to stakeholder

Your skills and experience

  • Experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or other control related-functions within the financial services. Deep knowledge of risk and control frameworks, financial reporting, regulatory expectations, operational and regulatory risks, and industry best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex risk themes into actionable insights
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships and influence stakeholders, and a track record of driving sustainable process and control improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a dynamic environment
  • Leadership, management and relationship building skills
  • Understanding of front-to-back control environment within an investment Bank
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for all levels of the organization
  • Project management skills and ability to prioritize and coordinate various deliverables across multiple owners
  • A strong understanding of controls and practical application of control principles
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, working knowledge of AI concepts is a plus
