I. Job Summary
Responsible for preparation, analysis, review and submission of various regulatory reports to relevant authorities. This position requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, excellent data analysis skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Identifies trends, rectifies inconsistencies and potential reporting errors through comprehensive data analysis in reporting data.
Maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Keeps up-to-date with regulatory changes and updates that may impact reporting processes.
Works with other departments to gather necessary data and information for accurate and timely reporting to regulatory bodies.
Maintains detailed documentation of reporting processes and procedures.
Handles internal and external audits related to regulatory reporting.
Executes automation projects of the Unit by providing technical expertise for improvement of reporting processes and systems.
II. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Report submission prepares complex regulatory reports for review of Unit Head.Ensures that regulatory reports for submission to regulatory agencies (BSP, BIR, PDIC, PSE, SEC) are complete, accurate and on time including the annual submission of audited financial statements to all relevant regulatory bodies.Reviews the reports generated by staff by demonstrating strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial regulations.
Regulatory Compliance and Reporting - ensures compliance to regulatory issuances from BSP/PDIC/PSE/SEC by providing interpretation of new regulatory requirements, the implementation of changes to reporting processes, and the validation of data used in regulatory reports. Coordinates and facilitates external and internal audits and implement recommendations for procedural improvements.
Tax Compliance and Reporting provides support on the timely filing and payment of all corporate monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns and supporting schedules and alphalists/reliefs which includes, among others, Value Added tax, withholding tax, Income tax, Final Tax, eDST and other returns that may arise during the course of business subject to review of Regulatory Reporting Manager and/or Accounting Manager and/or Chief Accounting Officer. Acts as alternate reviewer of BIR Form 2307 including handling tax queries from within the organization, clients, suppliers, and Management regarding tax treatments from time to time.
Coaching and leading provides training and support to staff to improve specific skills, enhance performance and achieve goals. Use coaching time to pinpoint areas of improvement.
Process improvement and automation develops and executes the automation projects including test frameworks and ensures completion/implementation on time. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate testing into project pipelines. Supervises staff as junior testers in automation tools. Manages and optimizes the use of accounting software and financial systems of the Bank and regulatory agencies.
HR and administrative matters Assesses direct reports job performance by providing feedback to superiors to be used in determining promotions, job rotations/transfers and termination of employment.Attends seminars and trainings related to the job.
Additional tasks as directed by superiors.
III. Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant or CPA license or having any certifications relevant to the job is a plus.
Minimum of 2 - 5 years of accounting or tax and regulatory or external audit experience for a Bank, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Proficient in accounting and regulatory software (API-XML, BIR-EFPS) and Microsoft Office, particularly Advanced MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power point.
Action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented and collaborative environment.
