Job Description

The Regional Business Unit Leader (RBUL) is responsible for the execution of the BU strategy across the APAC Region. The RBUL will ultimately be responsible to drive the financial performance of the regional P&L for the BU. The RBUL will develop and execute the tactical execution plans in alignment and close coordination with the Global Business Unit Leader/ GM. The Regional Business Leader will effectively manage the regional sales and regional marketing teams within their region. Sales Management will include Compensation Plan development, Commercial Plan execution, and regional customer engagement and interaction. Marketing Management will include category strategy creation, category execution and management of the regional marketing organization. The high-level goal of the Regional Business Leader will be to act as a partner to the Global Business Unit and work to disseminate the strategy and priorities directly to the customer base within the region.

The RBUL works in close collaboration with the GM to ensure alignment with the global BU strategy and liaises with the APAC Regional President in the matrix.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy

  • Collaborates with Global BUteam to develop portfolio strategies, P&L targets, and commercial execution plans
  • Develops the strategy and market approach for the BU across APAC, in close alignment with the GMs
  • Contributes to the global marketing and sales strategy by representing the APAC customer and market needs

Commercial Leadership

  • Develops the annual marketing, sales model programs and service plans for APAC in alignment with global BU strategy and under consultation of the APAC President
  • Manages P&L with discipline, uses financial and operational data to make business decisions and optimize performance
  • Drives for results with urgency, ensures initiatives are implemented effectively and deliver measurable impact
  • Has deep understanding of customer needs, competitor actions and evolving healthcare system landscape
  • Ensures compliance to APAC MedTech standards

Leadership and Organizational Development

  • Establishes & executes sales compensation plans and organizational structures in alignment with GM and APAC Regional President
  • Builds, develops, and retains high-performing commercial teams, fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and growth
  • Has direct access to the sales teams responsible for each respective business unit and consolidates sales targets and the overall sales strategy at the APAC level.
  • Ensures compliance with Olympus SOPs and relevant external regulations

Requirements:

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; MBA is an advantage.
  • 10+ years of experience in MedTech or other life science industry, with at least 7-8+ years of demonstrated success in an operational sales leadership position (ideally in a Subregion/Cluster) and P&L experience
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional, multi-country matrix organizations
  • Proven operational Sales Leadership experience, ideally in a Subregion/Cluster
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the capacity to translate complex data into decisive market-impactful strategies
  • Strong leadership and communication skills—adept at influencing in a matrix organization and leading cross-functional teams
  • Financial literacy, particularly P&L management and budgetary acumen
  • High adaptability with a bias for action in competitive market environments
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and to demonstrate problem solving skills
  • Deep knowledge of MedTech landscapes and regulatory environments throughout the APAC region
  • Experience with campaign development and execution in collaboration with digital and PR agencies
