Regional Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Coordinator

The Asia Governance and Controls team is seeking a Regional Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Coordinator to support and oversee the effective implementation, maintenance, and governance of BC/DR program across the Asia region. This role acts as a regional point of coordination and subject-matter expert (SME), ensuring BC/DR practices across Asia markets are aligned with global standards, local regulatory expectations, and internal control requirements.

In this role, you will partner with Asia Technology teams to support the identification and management of technology resilience risks as part of the regional Technology Business Continuity Management (BCM) program. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure critical services, processes and systems are resilient to disruption and capable of timely recovery. By leveraging strong collaboration, governance, and technology solutions, you will help ensure continuity of service and protect the business during adverse events.

Regional Coordination & Oversight

• Coordinate BC/DR across the Asia region, ensuring consistency, governance, and oversight across all Asia markets.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for BC/DR matters across business process owners, application teams, and infrastructure teams.
• Ensure BC/DR artefacts are complete, accurate, current, and audit-ready.

BC/DR Planning & Documentation

• Support Business Impact Assessments (BIA) and recovery strategy alignment.
• Support the development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Application / System Recovery Plans (ASRP / DR Plans).
• Ensure plans align with defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
• Maintain BC/DR documentation in the designated system of record.
• Guide Asian markets BCM/DR coordinators in their proper use of the system of record.

BC/DR Testing & Exercises

• Coordinate and support BC/DR testing activities including disaster recovery exercises, plan walkthroughs, tabletop exercises, simulations, and call tree tests.
• Track outcomes, issues, and remediation actions from tests.
• Ensure testing is risk-based, meaningful, and compliant.

SME Support & Advisory

• Provide BC/DR subject-matter expertise and guidance to business and IT teams.
• Drive continuous improvement of the program through maturity assessments and risk management practices to address the evolving threat landscape.
• Identify and document material risks and control gaps.

Governance, Risk & Reporting

• Support BC/DR governance activities including reporting, metrics, and dashboards.
• Prepare artifacts for audit and regulatory reviews.
• Partner with Risk and Operational Resilience teams to improve program maturity.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 5 years hands-on experience in Business Continuity and/or Disaster Recovery.
• Self-motivated, proactive, resilient, and comfortable taking accountability for outcomes.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and disciplined in execution.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (in English), with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBCP, CBCP or MBCI are preferred.
• ABCP, ITIL or PMP are well regarded.
• Experience in the Insurance, Banking or Financial Services industries is preferred.
• Experience in a regulated environment is well regarded.
• Exposure to regional coordination is advantageous.
