Job Summary

The Chiller Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of chiller systems and other refrigeration equipment. The role ensures that all cooling systems operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards to minimize downtime.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair chiller systems, refrigeration units, and cooling equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers and related mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues.
  • Monitor chiller performance, operating pressures, temperatures, and refrigerant levels.
  • Replace defective components such as compressors, motors, pumps, valves, thermostats, sensors, and electrical parts.
  • Conduct leak detection, refrigerant charging, and system testing.
  • Ensure proper operation of pumps, cooling towers, piping systems, and control panels.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and service logs.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Vocational, Technical, or Associate Course in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC), HVAC, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
  • TESDA NC II in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Servicing (RAC) is an advantage.
  • At least 12 years of experience in chiller, refrigeration, or HVAC maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with refrigeration principles, chillers, cooling towers, and HVAC systems.
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules, overtime, weekends, or holidays if required.
