Client Overview
This company helps clients manage their online presence, including how they appear in online communities, Q&A platforms, and what AI assistants say about them. They focus on authentic communication to shape online perception.
Role Summary
This role involves developing and writing engaging content for online communities, Q&A platforms, and other digital spaces. The strategist will be responsible for identifying relevant communities, creating authentic posts and comments that resonate with real people, and ensuring all content avoids sounding promotional. A separate team handles posting and account management.
Key Responsibilities
- Research clients industries, hobbies, and markets to identify niche communities worth building.
- Select and shape communities that function as real places, not branded pages.
- Author each community's post plan, including posts and comment threads.
- Write content in the voice of a genuine community member, often without brand mentions.
- Draft ongoing comment and reply copy for the publishing team.
- Write branded mentions for active discussion threads, appearing as real customer recommendations.
- Draft factual, measured responses to negative posts about clients based on provided specifics.
- Develop questions prospective customers ask before purchasing on Q&A platforms.
- Write genuinely useful answers that credibly surface the client without being advertisements.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to write authentically in various registers, sounding like a real person, not marketing copy.
- Extensive, long-term experience using Reddit, understanding its culture, what gets downvoted, and what constitutes genuinely useful comments.
- Analytical skills to connect businesses with relevant communities, topics, and audiences.
- Comfort using AI tools as a starting point while exercising independent judgment.
- Discipline regarding client constraints such as tone, proof points, and prohibited statements.
- Organizational skills to maintain content plans ahead of publishing schedules.
Preferred Skills
- Community management, forum moderation, copywriting, or journalism background.
- Experience ghostwriting or writing in another person's voice at volume.
