Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Reconciliation Specialist responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through timely and accurate account reconciliations. The role will work closely with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and external stakeholders to investigate discrepancies, resolve reconciling items, and support month-end and year-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, intercompany accounts, and operational transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, unmatched transactions, and reconciling items within established timelines.
  • Analyze large volumes of financial data to identify trends, variances, and root causes of reconciliation issues.
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve transaction and reporting discrepancies.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance reconciliation efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports and status updates for management.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in reconciliations, general accounting, treasury, or finance operations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.).
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-volume transaction environments.
  • Shared Services/BPO experience.
  • Experience with BlackLine, Trintech, or reconciliation software.
  • CPA or pursuing CPA is an advantage.
