The Center for Reading Assessment and Intervention, Inc. (CRAIN) is dedicated to helping learners become competent, confident, and joyful readers. As a founding member of the Council of Reading Intervention Specialists, Inc. (CORIS, Inc.) in the Philippines, CRAIN upholds rigorous professional standards and integrity. The center provides one-on-one instruction in a clinical setting, using assessment-based individualized plans. Services include reading assessment, reading intervention, beginning reading instruction, and academic writing programs tailored to each learner's needs. Reading intervention specialists are trained to support students with reading delays, dyslexia, ADHD, autism, communication disorders, and other reading challenges, with most teachers formally trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach.
Role DescriptionThe Reading Intervention Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Muntinlupa City. The specialist delivers individualized, one-on-one reading and writing instruction using assessment data to design and adjust intervention plans. Daily responsibilities include implementing structured, evidence-based interventions and tracking student progress. The role involves close collaboration with families and colleagues to communicate goals, progress, and recommended strategies. The specialist also participates in professional development, maintains accurate documentation, and supports a positive, supportive learning environment for learners with diverse needs.
Qualifications
- Excellent Communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working with learners with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning or communication challenges is highly beneficial.
- Training or certification in the Orton-Gillingham approach or similar structured literacy programs is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field; graduate studies or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work in a clinical, one-on-one instructional setting with patience, cultural sensitivity, and a learner-centered mindset.
