Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions for multiple small business clients. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, managing AP/AR and invoicing, supporting payroll processes, and cleaning up backlogged books. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in QuickBooks Online and U.S. accounting practices.

Job Highlights

Schedule: Part-time engagement of 20 hours per week (1:00 PM–5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday–Friday)

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for multiple small business clients, ensuring books are balanced, up to date, and accurate
• Perform account reconciliations and record financial transactions in a timely manner
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing processes across client accounts
• Clean up and bring current any backlogged or neglected client books
• Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with standard accounting practices
• Assist with general accounting-related administrative tasks such as data entry and file management

Requirements:

• Proven experience in U.S. accounting and bookkeeping for small businesses
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Strong understanding of account reconciliation, AP/AR, and financial reporting
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple client accounts simultaneously
