Quickbooks Accountant - Work from Home | Night Shift

Job Summary:

The Accountant 1 is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role involves preparing financial work papers, adjustment entries, and financial statements, as well as executing reconciliations across multiple accounts to verify data integrity and finalize account balances.

Job Description:

• Prepare and file monthly General Excise Tax (GET) returns.

• Prepare, update, and review Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and reports for financial statements, project status, and performance.

• Enter and reconcile accounts payable, receivable, retainage, payroll liabilities, taxes, and related transactions.

• Reconcile bank accounts, credit transactions, line of credit accounts, and note payables; resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Record and reconcile deposits, prepaid expenses, inventory, fixed assets (including depreciation), and investments.

• Reconcile cost in excess of billings and billings in excess of cost accounts.

• Reconcile union liabilities and ensure accuracy of related records.

• Perform month-end closing procedures and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled.

• Compile and review final financial packets for accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications:

• Uses MS Excel functions such as PIVOT, IF, SUM, and AVERAGE to produce accounting reports.

• Must have a stable internet connection and a backup plan if needed.

• Willingness to work overtime (1-2 hours per day) during the busy season.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with constant changes and updates.

• Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English with minimal grammar errors and can comfortably talk directly to US-based clients and receiving feedback constructively.

Screening Criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in accountancy.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA-eligible.

• At least one (1) year of experience in accounting tasks such as AP/AR, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and payroll.

• Must have a stable employment history.
