Quantity Surveyor | Full Time | AU Time Zone | WFH

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor specializing in take-offs and costing, you will be the analytical backbone of the project's financial accuracy. This role focuses on translating complex construction drawings into precise data to drive procurement, variation management, and cost control for large-scale residential projects

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Take-Offs

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and services drawings.
  • Measure quantities for key trades including concrete, reinforcement, formwork, finishes, façade, and external works.
  • Update quantities when drawings are revised or issued for construction.

Costing Support

  • Assist with preliminary costing of trade packages based on measured quantities.
  • Prepare quantity summaries to support trade pricing comparisons.
  • Assist the project team with checking trade pricing against measured quantities.

Variation Measurement

  • Measure quantities associated with proposed variations.
  • Provide quantity checks to support the contract administration team when assessing variation pricing.

Drawing Review

  • Review construction drawings to identify quantity discrepancies or scope gaps.
  • Track drawing revisions and update quantity schedules accordingly.

Reporting

  • Maintain organised quantity take-off records and measurement summaries.
  • Provide quantity reports to assist the project team with cost monitoring and decision-making.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5+ years Quantity Surveying experience in residential construction.
  • Experience working on multi-storey residential or apartment projects and high rise building
  • Strong experience with quantity take-offs from construction drawings.
  • Proficiency with Excel and take-off software (e.g. Bluebeam, CostX, PlanSwift or similar).
