As a Quantity Surveyor - Team Leader within the Tendering & Estimation Department, you will be responsible for leading measurement teams, guiding quantity surveyors, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and quantity take-offs across multiple projects. You will oversee measurement strategy, monitor productivity, resolve technical queries, and ensure alignment between measurement outputs and tender submission deadlines. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate across teams and disciplines to deliver high-quality tender submissions.
Your Role
- Lead and supervise project measurement teams, ensuring accurate and consistent quantity take-offs across all assigned projects.
- Guide quantity surveyors on measurement methodology, BOQ structure, and application of POMI standards.
- Ensure timely submission of final Bills of Quantities in line with tender deadlines.
- Monitor progress of QS measurement activities and assess productivity against project timelines.
- Prepare and consolidate BUA tabulations for all projects.
- Prepare and collate rebar ratio data for design coordination and technical analysis.
- Coordinate with technical teams on excavation strategies, construction methodologies, and joint quantification requirements.
- Consolidate RFIs raised by the QS team and ensure proper resolution or escalation where required.
- Review and consolidate final measured quantities submitted by QS team members.
- Consolidate Schedule of Departures and assumptions prepared by the QS team.
- Report project status, risks, and measurement progress to the QS Manager.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to QS Manager, Estimators, or Package Managers when necessary.
- Monitor QS performance and provide guidance, feedback, and corrective direction where required.
- Review quantity measurements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with drawings and specifications.
- Participate in quantity reconciliation meetings with client and consultant QS teams.
- Coordinate with estimators and package managers to ensure alignment between measurement outputs and pricing strategy.
What We're looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, leadership or team supervision responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and measurement across all construction disciplines.
- Advanced experience in structural, architectural, landscaping, infrastructure, and MEP-related measurement scopes.
- Strong knowledge of POMI, CESMM, and NRM measurement standards.
- Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents at a high level.
- Strong experience in preparing BOQ descriptions and structured measurement deliverables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong experience using AutoCAD, PlanSwift, CAD Measure, or similar measurement tools.
- Exposure to BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
- Strong analytical and decision-making ability in resolving measurement conflicts and assumptions.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
