Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Quality Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our digital products are accessible and inclusive for all users, including those with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accessibility Testing: Utilize assistive technologies, screen readers, and other tools to thoroughly test products against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 standards.
- Barrier Identification: Meticulously evaluate digital products to identify potential barriers that may prevent individuals with disabilities from effectively using and accessing the content.
- Documentation: Accurately record and document any identified problems, defects, or accessibility issues, and providing detailed findings to the Accessibility Lead.
- Reporting and Presentation: Prepare comprehensive accessibility testing reports and effectively present the testing results to stakeholders, including designers, developers, and product owners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- At least 2 years of experience in a technology-related role.
- Experience in web testing or accessibility testing (for web-based applications).
- Proven ability to create test documentation (test plans, test reports, defect logs, accessibility findings).
- Hands-on experience in web product testing, preferably involving usability or accessibility validation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong empathy and understanding of user experience, especially for individuals facing accessibility challenges.
- Ability to identify issues thoroughly and ensure high-quality outputs.
- Basic knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Familiarity with screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS) and keyboard navigation.
- Experience using accessibility testing tools such as aXe or similar browser plugins.
- Exposure to accessibility auditing or compliance practices.
