Role Summary
The Quality Control Engineer (Tekla) is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and constructability of reinforcement detailing outputs. The role focuses on reviewing Tekla-based models and drawings, identifying errors or inefficiencies, and supporting continuous improvement in quality assurance processes across reinforcement detailing activities. This position plays a critical role in minimizing rework, reducing project risk, and supporting cost and schedule efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed quality checks and reviews of reinforcement models, shop drawings, bending schedules, and related deliverables produced using Tekla Structures.
- Verify compliance with project specifications, approved design drawings, and applicable international and regional codes and standards.
- Identify detailing inconsistencies, clashes, omissions, or constructability issues and coordinate corrections with detailing and engineering teams.
- Ensure reinforcement detailing outputs align with manufacturing, fabrication, and site installation requirements.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of quality control procedures, checklists, and workflows within the detailing function.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders, including detailers, engineers, project teams, and production teams, to resolve quality-related issues efficiently.
- Monitor recurring errors and contribute to root-cause analysis and preventive actions to reduce rework.
- Maintain proper documentation of quality reviews, revisions, and approvals in line with project and internal standards.
- Support training and knowledge sharing by providing technical feedback and guidance to detailing teams when required.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Diploma, Degree, or relevant Certification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related discipline
Minimum Experience
- At least 3 years experience in a quality control role within a reinforcement detailing environment
- At least 5 years hands-on experience in reinforcement detailing
Technical & Professional Skills
- Proven experience in reinforcement detailing and quality control within construction, engineering consultancy, or rebar manufacturing environments
- Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures and working knowledge of BIM-based workflows
- Solid understanding of reinforcement detailing principles, fabrication processes, and site execution requirements
- Working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, including Eurocodes, BS 8666, and other applicable regional standards
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to identify design, detailing, and compliance issues
- Strong communication and coordination skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards

- Previous exposure to rebar manufacturing facilities or active construction site environments
