Job Purpose

The Quality Assurance Supervisor ensures organizational compliance with regulatory, certification, and internal quality standards by managing audit processes, documentation integrity, and corrective/preventive actions. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and external auditors to maintain audit readiness, minimize non-conformance risks, and safeguard product quality. It also supervises QA audit aides, drives cost-effective quality assurance practices, and ensures that all quality records remain complete, accurate, and traceable in alignment with legal and industry requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the QA Lead/Manager to align auditing schedules, CAPA implementation, and compliance activities.
  • Works closely with Production, Market, R&D, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Coordinates with third-party auditors, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies during audits and inspections.
  • Supports customer audits and vendor qualifications by ensuring complete, accurate, and compliant documentation is provided.
  • Ensures cost-effective management of quality documentation and auditing resources.
  • Minimizes financial risks by preventing non-conformances and compliance issues that may result in penalties, rejections, or product holds.
  • Ensures that product and process controls are properly validated and verified.
  • Supervises QA audit aides responsible for documentation and audit-related tasks.
  • Maintains the integrity, completeness, and traceability of all quality records in compliance with legal, regulatory, and certification standards.
  • Drives audit readiness by proactively identifying system gaps and implementing corrective and preventive measures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with strong exposure to documentation control and auditing activities.
  • At least 12 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GFSI schemes, QMS, GMP, HACCP, ISO standards, and documentation control systems.
  • Familiarity with key sustainability-related product certifications (Non-GMO Project, Upcycled Certified, Halal, Kosher, etc.) and the ability to ensure compliance with related claims and standards.
  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks and labeling requirements related to sustainability and product claims.
  • Ability to evaluate, validate, and communicate sustainability certifications in support of product development, QA, or marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret laboratory test results to verify compliance with certification and regulatory standards.
  • Skilled in audit preparation, execution, and post-audit follow-up (internal, external, and customer audits).
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis, CAPA development, and risk management methodologies.
  • Strong communication and technical report-writing skills.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and train staff in proper quality documentation practices.
