Job Description
The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee the company's quality assurance programs and systems to ensure that products consistently meet established quality, food safety, regulatory, and customer requirements. The role will lead quality initiatives, manage the QA team, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across manufacturing operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards and specifications.
- Lead investigations of quality issues, customer complaints, non-conformities, and product deviations.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Conduct regular quality audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Manage product testing, inspection, sampling, and release activities.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, and other departments to address quality concerns.
- Monitor quality performance indicators and prepare regular reports for management.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste, customer complaints, and quality-related costs.
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and control of quality records.
- Lead and develop the QA/QC team through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Coordinate with external auditors, regulatory agencies, customers, and certification bodies when required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable GMP, HACCP, ISO, and other relevant quality and food safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8–10 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with ISO standards and external/internal audits is preferred.
- Strong background in root cause analysis, CAPA, process improvement, and quality problem-solving.
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing and developing QA/QC teams.
- Willing to work in a plant/manufacturing environment and on a shifting schedule when required.
