Responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. The role involves overseeing quality control processes, food safety certifications and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties:
- Monitor and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards throughout the production process
- Review pre- shipment inspection report submitted by suppliers, ensure that the received products and/or new materials are inspected diligently within set standards in terms of basic safety and specifications. The result of the inspection must be sent within the standard period.
- Validate and attend to submitted customer complaints, quality issues, non-conformances and give corresponding corrective and preventive action
- Conduct internal Food Safety and Quality Audit twice a year
- Lead and manage quality programs as requested by third party auditor or client (review whenever necessary)
- Enforce traceability, proper documentation of products for recall purposes (if needed)
- Keep up to date with changes in food laws, labeling requirements and industry regulations
- Oversee FDA licensing processes (applications, renewal, amendment)
- Oversee sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe production environment (including management of pest control programs)
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and certifications (e.g., ISO, HACCP, GMP, FDA and etc.)
- Conduct periodical training/ seminar on GMP, Food Safety, Food Security to new and relevant employees
- Prepare quality reports and performance metrics for management review
- Stay up to date with current industry trends, including changing customer requirements, translated into tangible action points to discuss with Sales, Purchasing and Operations Team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in food science, food nutrition or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in QAQC (with leadership role)
- Knowledgeable in industry standards and compliance
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
