What you'll do:
- Drive Test Strategy & Framework Design Architect and implement comprehensive software automation testing frameworks, processes, and strategies for both web and mobile applications. You'll work closely with customers, product, and development teams to translate business requirements into robust test suites that ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Build AI-Driven Testing Capabilities Leverage generative AI tools to generate, prioritise, and maintain test cases. Develop adaptive test scripts in TypeScript using Playwright and Puppeteer that respond intelligently to code changes and evolving user flows. Apply AI-powered defect prediction and risk-based testing techniques to optimise coverage and focus efforts where they matter most.
- Design Integration & End-to-End Tests Lead the creation of comprehensive integration and end-to-end test suites that validate complex system behaviour across services and interfaces. Build reusable, configurable automation that supports dynamic test scenarios while remaining resilient and maintainable.
- Ensure Quality with Human-in-the-Loop Oversight Validate AI-generated test results to ensure transparency and accountability. Identify and report defects with detailed reproduction steps, and collaborate with QA analysts to review AI outputs and refine algorithms through continuous feedback loops.
- Mentor & Evangelise Best Practices Guide and mentor team members on effective use of automation tools, AI-assisted testing, and software quality best practices. Champion continuous improvement initiatives, influence architecture and design decisions, and share testing expertise across the organisation.
- Thrive in Agile Environments Work effectively in a fast-paced, agile development environment. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive testing initiatives forward while managing stakeholders and communicating progress with clarity and confidence.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in the technology domain with 3+ years focused specifically on software testing. At least 2+ years of hands-on test automation experience, with demonstrable history of implementing automated integration and end-to-end tests. Experience working with generative AI tools in a professional or open-source setting is highly valued, acknowledging that this expertise may be more recent.
- Proficiency in TypeScript is essential; familiarity with Python is an advantage. Expertise in browser automation tools such as Playwright and Puppeteer, along with Maestro for React Native automation. Solid understanding of test design patterns and frameworks for integration and end-to-end testing. Hands-on experience with web and mobile application testing, API testing, and system performance testing. Working knowledge of open-source solutions for creating functional, regression, and automation tests. Familiarity with cloud service-oriented platforms and exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) is beneficial.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and large language models for test case generation, code analysis, and defect prediction. Comfortable analysing large datasets and interpreting AI recommendations to improve quality metrics. Be prepared to demonstrate how you use AI tools during the interview process.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and outstanding communication skills—both written and verbal. Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and mentor colleagues on AI-powered QA techniques. Self-driven with excellent stakeholder management skills. Passion for staying at the forefront of AI-driven testing trends with a commitment to continuous learning. Energy, drive, and enthusiasm to operate in a fast-paced digital environment.
