Job Description

  • Help prepare monthly, weekly, and daily reports on production matrix and present status updates if necessary
  • Help oversee production stages to uphold consistent quality standards and identify areas for improvement
  • Document and maintain detailed quality control records and reports
  • Review all in-line monitoring documents at the end of the shift, ensure completion and signatures, and file accordingly
  • Monitor documents and ensure all required signatures are obtained
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO, and other food safety standards
  • Conduct annual internal GMP training/seminars for QC and Production personnel and orient newly hired employees on GMP protocol
  • Participate in identifying and troubleshooting quality issues, verifying and maintaining controls, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and recommending process improvements
  • Implement documentation related to food safety standards such as GMP, HACCP, ISO, etc.
  • Conduct quarterly internal GMP or Food Safety audits
  • Request third-party calibration of all QA/QC laboratory and in-line equipment once a year and maintain updated calibration records
  • Maintain implementation of standard processes established by R&D
  • Assist the Assistant QA/QC Manager in regulatory compliance such as FDA and other QA/QC activities
  • Assist in investigation and validation of customer complaints and support the Assistant QA/QC Manager in special projects
  • Develop and revise Quality Manual Procedures such as GMP, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, Work Instructions, etc., in preparation for certification
  • Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Assistant QA/QC Manager or QA/QC Manager from time to time

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably in food manufacturing
  • Bachelors degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or any food-related field
  • Proficiency in quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000)
  • Strong knowledge of statistical process control and data analysis
  • Experience with quality testing equipment and laboratory procedures
  • HACCP certification preferred
  • GMP training certification preferred
  • Internal auditor certification for ISO standards (desirable)
