Your Role
As a
QA Engineer, you will:
- Perform manual functional testing of desktop applications across Windows 10/11 and macOS environments.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on product requirements, UI walkthroughs, and exploratory testing.
- Review, refine, and enhance AI-generated test plans by removing redundancies, identifying edge cases, and improving expected outcomes.
- Execute test scenarios and document results using structured spreadsheets and testing documentation.
- Create detailed bug reports with accurate reproduction steps, severity assessments, screenshots, and log files.
- Validate complex desktop application workflows, including multi-window interfaces, drag-and-drop functionality, modal dialogs, installer processes, and system tray/menu bar interactions.
- Conduct cross-platform testing on Windows, Intel-based Macs, and Apple Silicon (ARM) Mac devices.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure product quality and timely issue resolution.
- Verify integrations involving Microsoft 365, Outlook Classic, and modern Outlook environments.
- Participate in issue tracking, testing reviews, and quality discussions through Microsoft Teams and GitLab.
What You Need
Non-negotiables
- At least 3 years of experience in manual functional testing of desktop applications.
- Hands-on testing experience on both Windows and macOS platforms.
- Access to Windows 10/11 and macOS devices, including Intel and Apple Silicon (ARM) Mac environments.
- Experience creating and maintaining detailed test plans, test cases, and testing documentation.
- Strong experience identifying, documenting, and reporting software defects.
- Familiarity with complex desktop UI components and workflows.
- Knowledge of Windows Shell Extensions, Registry configurations, and NSIS installers.
- Knowledge of macOS .app bundles, Info.plist configurations, file associations, and native UI behaviors.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Outlook Classic, and modern Outlook environments.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams and GitLab for collaboration and issue tracking.
Preferred Skills/expertise
- Experience testing Microsoft Entra ID and OAuth authentication flows.
- Exposure to AI, LLM, or chatbot-based applications.
- Experience validating Windows installers (NSIS) and macOS deployment packages (.app and .dmg).
- Experience performing exploratory testing and edge-case analysis.
- Familiarity with cross-platform desktop application testing methodologies.
- Experience working in agile or product-driven development environments.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and release processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed and global teams.
- Experience testing productivity or business software applications.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
