QA Automation Lead with Tosca

Job Mandate:

The Test Automation Architect leads the design and implementation of test automation solutions within the Delivery Team. This role manages Test Automation Analysts, ensures alignment with TCOE-defined standards and frameworks, and collaborates closely with the Test Administration team to translate enterprise-wide automation strategies into effective delivery practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure compliance with the ITG Quality Framework and TCOE-defined standards.

2. Enforce adherence to the SDLC and TCOE Test Process across automation activities.

3. Support the Test Manager/Lead in achieving the team's automation goals.

4. Own and manage the Test Automation Solution and related assets for the project or unit.

5. Design and develop automation frameworks in alignment with the TCOE Automation Framework.

6. Configure, set up, and maintain the test automation environment and framework.

7. Provide technical guidance on test script creation, maintenance, and optimization.

8. Continuously assess the effectiveness of automation solutions in defect detection and runtime efficiency.

9. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the test automation framework.

10. Install, manage, and utilize test automation tools effectively.

11. Collaborate closely with developers, project managers, business contacts, and user representatives.

12. Advocate for test automation processes and deliverables within the Delivery Team.

13. Provide documentation and ongoing support for automation solutions.

14. Conduct training and actively develop the automation skills of Test Automation Analysts and other testing team members.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree relevant to the job

Work Experience:

1. At least 8 years of experience in test automation, with a strong focus on designing and implementing automation frameworks.

2. Proven experience leading automation initiatives within Agile or DevOps delivery environments.

3. Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring test automation engineers or analysts.

Knowledge Area:

1. Domain expertise in loan core banking system or any loan management system is highly preferred

2. Deep understanding of test automation architecture, frameworks, and best practices.

3. Knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and test process governance aligned with TCOE standards.

4. Awareness of industry trends in test automation, including shift-left testing and AI-driven testing tools.

Skills:

1. Experience in programming/coding/scripting using test automation tools

2. Experience in executing/debugging/maintaining test automation scripts

3. Has driven process improvements related to test automation

4. Has experience in mentoring junior test analysts or peers

5. Can demonstrate skill in coding standards and code reviews

6. Has strong trouble shooting, issue resolution skills and root cause analysis skill

7. Proficient in test automation tools such as Tricentis Tosca, UFT, Selenium (commonly used in BDO), Robot Framework, Kobiton, TestProject, TestComplete, TestArchitect, Cucumber, IBM Rational Functional Tester, and Katalon.

8. Strong programming/scripting skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.

9. Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

10. Skilled in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization of automation solutions.

11. Familiarity with non-functional testing (e.g., performance, load, security) is a plus.
