About The Role
Location: Calumpit, Bulacan
Role Type: Full-time
Reporting to: QMS and Quality Manager
Work Schedule: 5-day work week
The
PVC Chemist (R&D) will ensure product quality and develop new formulations for PVC products and other materials. He/she will be responsible for conducting comparative product studies, testing and optimizing product formulations, and qualifying new products and materials.
Other responsibilities include:
- Research and develop optimum formulations and dimensions for PVC pipes and other plastic products.
- Manage the life cycle of PVC and plastic materials, including compounding, pelletizing, testing, and material recovery.
- Ensure that raw materials and finished products conform to applicable quality and product standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs through formulation improvement and scrap reduction.
- Qualify new products and evaluate cost-effective raw materials and material alternatives.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to troubleshoot material and product-related issues and implement appropriate solutions.
To succeed and grow in this role, you will be required to meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or similar
- PRC license is a plus
- Knowledgeable in SPC and FMEA is a plus
- Good project management and problem solving skills
- Knowledge in the extrusion process is an advantage
