Job Description

  • Design: Assist in the design of solar PV systems, including sizing and layout of PV panels, inverters, and other system components according to Australian standard. Conduct calculations and simulations to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. Using software such as Opensolar and PVsyst.
  • Pre-Installation desktop quality assurance: Conduct assessments to evaluate the solar potential of different locations, including shade analysis, solar access, and structural assessments. Use specialized tools and software to collect and analyze data.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Assist in the testing and commissioning of solar PV systems, including performance remote online testing, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations related to solar PV projects, including project status updates, performance reports.
  • Ongoing knowledge learning: Stay updated with the latest developments and innovations in solar PV technology, regulations, and industry trends. Participate in research and development activities to identify and implement new technologies and best practices. Company will provide product training over time.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, technicians, sales reps, customers and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless execution of solar PV projects.
  • Technical support: Working with major manufacturers to sort out technical enquiry from customers and perform troubleshooting when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of related Electrical Engineering experience; particularly in system design
  • Basic understanding of solar PV principles, components, and systems.
  • Familiarity in solar PV software tools, such as PVsyst, Helioscope, and/or AutoCAD is highly advantageous
  • Residential and small C&I battery experience
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
