Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Purchasing Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently under pressure, and have a keen eye for identifying high-quality kitchen equipment. As a Purchasing Intern, you will be responsible for sourcing new equipment, comparing different equipment, drafting budgets, maintaining supplier relationships, scouting for new suppliers, and working closely with the Operations team to ensure timely delivery of orders. Speed and precision are essential aspects of the job, as the success of the organization depends on the quality and timeliness of the purchases.

Responsibilities:

  • Source for new kitchen equipment and compare different equipment to identify the best quality equipment for our organization.
  • Draft budgets for equipment purchases and ensure adherence to the organization's procurement policies and procedures.
  • Maintain excellent supplier relationships by communicating with them effectively and ensuring timely payments for goods received.
  • Scout for new suppliers and identify potential partnerships that would benefit the organization.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to ensure timely delivery of orders and communicate any changes or delays that may arise.
  • Ensure that all procurement documentation is complete and accurate and maintain records of purchases made.
  • Provide support to the Purchasing Manager as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Amenable to work on an onsite or hybrid setup
