Job Description

A Pump Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various types of pumps used in industrial applications such as wastewater management, water treatment, and other engineering sectors. They ensure that pumps and related systems operate efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, and maintain different types of pumps, including centrifugal, positive displacement, and submersible pumps.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning pumps and systems, including identifying mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, replacing seals, and checking for wear on pump parts.
  • Conduct tests on pumps to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
  • Perform alignment, calibration, and adjustment of pumps and related components.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory of spare parts.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other staff and operators.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of pump systems and solutions for specific projects.
  • Prepare client acceptance documents and service reports.

Education:

  • Vocational/technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering is an advantage but not required.

Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in pump maintenance, repair, or installation in industrial settings.
  • Experience with submersible pumps or similar pump systems is highly preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of pump systems, mechanics, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with pump operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment to repair pumps, including testing devices, wrenches, and torque equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls related to pump motors.
  • Knowledge on Fire Pump and Jockey Pump Operation.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., in electrical or mechanical systems) are a plus.
  • Safety and environmental certifications (e.g., OSHA or similar) would be advantageous.

Personal Traits:

  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work/travel at site

Job Type: Full-time

Supplemental Pay:

  • 13th month salary
  • Commission pay
  • Overtime pay
