Role Description

The Property Maintenance Assistant Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Pavia, responsible for supporting the overall management and upkeep of company properties and project sites. This role assists in planning, coordinating, and supervising building and equipment maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance schedules and compliance with safety and quality standards. The Property Maintenance Assistant Head monitors maintenance requests, assigns tasks, and ensures timely completion of repairs and services to minimize downtime. The position collaborates closely with site engineers, contractors, and vendors, maintains maintenance records, and helps optimize resource use and inventory of tools and materials. The role also supports reporting on property conditions, recommending improvements, and ensuring that facilities meet operational requirements and organizational standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities across assigned properties and facilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance issues and ensure preventative measures are in place
  • Manage maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of repair and upkeep tasks
  • Oversee maintenance staff and contractors to ensure work quality and adherence to safety standards
  • Prepare maintenance reports and documentation for management review
  • Budget management for maintenance operations and procurement of necessary materials and services
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues and coordinate emergency repairs
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety and building regulations
  • Liaise with tenants, property managers and external service providers regarding maintenance matters

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in property or facility maintenance management, preferably in a supervisory or assistant management capacity
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural components
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Leadership capability with demonstrated experience managing and motivating maintenance teams
  • Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and building codes
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and basic computer literacy
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to preventative maintenance
  • Physical capability to perform regular site inspections and occasional hands-on maintenance tasks
  • Ability to work on-site in Pavia and supervise field operations; previous leadership or supervisory experience is an advantage.
  • Certification in building maintenance, facilities management or related field is advantageous
  • Vocational or college-level education in building technology, engineering, facilities management, or related field is preferred.
