The Property Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of assigned properties.
This role ensures accurate financial reporting, monitors property income and expenses, and supports management in financial analysis and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements for assigned properties
Record and monitor property-related transactions, including rent, operating expenses, and capital expenditures
Handle accounts payable and receivable related to property operations
Reconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and general ledger accounts
Prepare budget reports, variance analysis, and financial forecasts
Monitor tenant billings, collections, and lease-related financial entries
Assist in year-end closing, audit preparation, and financial reporting
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and tax regulations
Coordinate with property managers and other departments regarding financial concerns
Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation and records
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or related field
At least 23 years of accounting experience (experience in property or real estate accounting is an advantage)
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple properties/accounts
