The Promotions & Pricing Manager is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies and promotional plans that drive sales, improve margins, and enhance overall customer value perception. This role ensures alignment between merchandising, supply chain, and store operations by balancing competitiveness, profitability, and inventory movement. The position plays a critical role in optimizing pricing structures and leading promotional campaigns across all channels.
Pricing Strategy & Management
- Develop and implement pricing strategies across categories to ensure competitiveness and profitability
- Conduct regular price benchmarking and market analysis to stay aligned with industry trends
- Review and approve price changes, ensuring accuracy and proper system implementation
- Monitor price elasticity and recommend adjustments based on sales performance and demand patterns
Promotions Planning & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of promotional campaigns (e.g., seasonal events, bundle offers, discounts)
- Collaborate with Buying/Merchandising teams to align promotions with category strategies
- Ensure promotional offers are feasible from a supply chain and inventory standpoint
- Evaluate post-promotion performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Buying, Marketing, and Store Operations to ensure seamless execution of pricing and promotions
- Align promotional plans with inventory availability, replenishment cycles, and supplier commitments
- Support demand planning by providing insights on promotional uplift and pricing changes
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze sales, margin, and inventory data to assess the effectiveness of pricing and promotions
- Generate reports and insights to guide decision-making and continuous improvement
- Track key KPIs such as sell-through rates, margin impact, and promotional ROI
Process Improvement & Governance
- Establish and maintain pricing and promotions governance, policies, and approval workflows
- Ensure data accuracy in pricing systems and promotional setups
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in pricing, promotions, merchandising, or supply chain within retail or FMCG
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in data analysis tools (Excel, BI tools like Power BI, etc.)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
