Job Description

Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) is the largest business-led non-governmental organization (NGO) in the Philippines, established in 1970 to lead the private sector's efforts in poverty reduction. Founded by 50 business leaders, it encourages companies to fulfill their corporate social responsibility (CSR) by pooling resources and expertise to support sustainable development.

Assignment: Arteche, Eastern Samar

Contract duration:January 1 to March 31, 2026 (Reliever)

About the project:

PBSP is implementing the three-year project Improving mother-child health and nutrition in Eastern Samar co-funded by Karl Kübel Stiftung für Kind und Familie and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist in the planning and execution of project activities according to the project work plan by ensuring that project tasks are carried out on time and within budget.
  2. Track project progress and performance against defined objectives and indicators by preparing progress reports highlighting achievements and challenges.
  3. Identify potential risks to project implementation and outcomes and suggest strategies to address these risks.
  4. Track spending and report any budget variances to the Project Manager.
  5. Conduct field visits to implement project activities.
  6. Roll out capacity building activities, from planning and assessment to logistics and evaluation.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government partners, community members, beneficiaries, and resource persons.
  8. Facilitate communication among project team members, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
  9. Maintain accurate and organized records of project activities, meetings, and correspondence.
  10. Ensure project activities comply with organizational policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.
  11. Assist in the documentation of results and lessons learned for evaluation purposes.
  12. Perform other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Public Health, Social Science, Political Science, Development Studies, Business Administration, or related fields.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in project management and coordination.
  • With hands-on experience in capacity building, volunteer management, local government, or microenterprise development, particularly in communities, health, and nutrition.
  • Background in projects funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ) and other international donors would be an advantage.
  • Can work independently or with a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships among a broad range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to organize training workshops and awareness campaigns.

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, Filipino, and Waray.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Willing and able to do fieldwork.
