The Project Manager role requires an individual who is highly motivated, organized, and detail oriented. They should possess excellent communication skills and exceptional leadership abilities. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of TxDOT's compliance and ethical standards and be proficient in negotiating. Additionally, they must be flexible and adaptable when dealing with projects and clients.
Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Define project milestones, deliverables, and critical path, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project objectives.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and able to prepare and maintain project schedules
- Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, expenditures, and financial reporting.
- Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor and control project costs to prevent budget overruns.
- Lead and coordinate multiple project teams, including engineers, designers, and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, reports, and correspondence.
- Provide regular progress reports to clients and senior management.
- Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications before submission.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure designs are free from errors or inconsistencies.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of project documentation and deliverables.
- Implement quality control procedures to verify that work meets the required specifications and standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5 – 7 years of experience in a project management role
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
- Valid driver's license
