Project Manager (Pre-Construction)

Work arrangement: Permanent work-from-home setup

Schedule: Morning shift, Monday to Friday

Role Summary

This role is responsible for managing the pre-construction phase of commercial building projects, with a strong focus on bid submissions, design coordination, and commercial value optimisation. Reporting to the Bid Submissions Manager, the Project Manager (Pre-Construction) supports tender preparation from RFQ review through to handover for construction delivery, ensuring accurate scope, pricing, risk identification, and early subcontractor engagement across multiple projects.

The role suits an experienced construction professional who can independently manage timelines, costs, documentation, and stakeholder coordination in a collaborative, non-micromanaged environment, while contributing to strong commercial outcomes and high-quality submissions.

Key Focus Areas

• End-to-end management of pre-construction and bid submissions
• RFQ and documentation review, SOW preparation, RFIs, and trade comparisons
• Cost forecasting, value management, and commercial analysis
• Early engagement and coordination of subcontractors and consultants
• Design and shop drawing review and bid compliance support
• Managing multiple tenders/projects with strong time management

Ideal Background

• 510+ years project management experience in commercial construction
• Qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent
• Strong experience with Australian construction projects (offshore experience preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Project, MS Office, and PM software (e.g., Procore)
• Background in commercial builds such as childcare, schools, retail, or offices
