Job Description

Role Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end project delivery within a Project Management Office (PMO), overseeing multiple initiatives from planning through execution and project closure. This role manages cross-functional teams, coordinates stakeholders, and ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while following established PMO governance and project management methodologies.

The ideal candidate has experience managing technology, systems implementation, operational improvement, or enterprise transformation projects and possesses strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Lead multiple projects of varying size and complexity from initiation through successful completion.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, timelines, budgets, and resource plans to support successful project execution.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure deliverables remain aligned with agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Manage project dependencies, critical paths, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives.

Project Governance & Reporting


  • Maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, risk registers, issue logs, action trackers, RACI matrices, budgets, and status reports.
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare executive-level reports that communicate project progress, risks, issues, and overall performance.
  • Ensure compliance with established PMO methodologies, governance standards, and project management best practices.

Risk & Issue Management


  • Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and potential roadblocks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize project impact.
  • Escalate critical issues and risks appropriately to ensure timely decision-making and resolution.
  • Conduct project closeout activities, including lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management


  • Collaborate with business leaders, project sponsors, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment throughout project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure contractual deliverables, timelines, and service expectations are met.
  • Analyze business requirements, project documentation, and vendor deliverables to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration


  • Coordinate activities across multiple departments to support operational, technology, and integration initiatives.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, and effective communication among project teams.
  • Support organizational change initiatives by facilitating communication and coordination between stakeholders.

Qualifications


Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance, and best practices.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage project risks, budgets, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.

Preferred


  • Experience in healthcare operations or healthcare-related projects.
  • Experience leading IT projects, system implementations, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Visio, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
