Contract Furniture / Workplace Solutions (Steelcase Dealer)

Job Description

Role Summary

The Project Manageris responsible forplanning, coordinating, and delivering contract furniture projects from award to final installation. This role serves as the main point of coordination between clients, designers, sales, operations, suppliers, and installers to ensure projects are deliveredon time, within scope, and to Steelcase quality standards.

This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional withstrong communicationskills and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Manage multiple contract furniture projects from order confirmation through delivery and installation
  • Develop andmaintaindetailed project schedules, milestones, and action plans
  • Track project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Ensure all project documentation isaccurateand up to date

Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as thecentral pointof contact for internal teams (Sales, Bid & Design, Operations)
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and installation teams
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with clientsregardingproject status, timelines, and changes
  • Facilitate meetings and follow-ups to ensure alignment across teams

Design & Technical Coordination

  • Review drawings, specifications, and furniture layouts
  • Coordinate closely with Interior Designers and Architects to ensure design intent is met
  • Ensure product specifications align with Steelcase standards and project requirements
  • Flag potential design, site, or installation issues early

Quality, Risk & Problem Management

  • Monitor project risks, issues, and changes; propose solutions promptly
  • Ensure installations meet quality, safety, and client expectations
  • Conduct punch-list reviews and close-out documentation
  • Support resolution of site issues and post-installation concerns

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintainaccurateproject records, schedules, and status reports
  • Provide regular updates to management and operations teams
  • Ensure proper handover and project close-out

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree inInterior Design, Architecture, or a related field(preferred)
  • Minimum35years experiencein project management (contract furniture, interiors, fit-out, or construction preferred)
  • Strong understanding of project coordination, timelines, and documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD, project management tools is an advantage
