Project Manager Airport

Responsibilities

Lead full end-to-end project management of airport hangar developments, from conceptual design, tendering, procurement, construction through to commissioning and handover.

Manage planning and execution of wide-span steel structural systems, ensuring structural integrity, safety, and compliance with aviation standards.

Oversee coordination and integration of heavy MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection) systems within hangar environments.

Ensure successful delivery of high-clearance structural design and erection, including long-span roof systems, large hangar doors, and aviation-specific operational clearances.

Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, cost controls, and risk mitigation plans to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders including consultants, structural engineers, MEPF engineers, airport authorities, contractors, and subcontractors.

Ensure strict compliance with aviation regulations, airport operational requirements, local building codes, and HSE standards.

Supervise on-site construction activities, monitor quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and resolve technical challenges related to steel erection, MEPF clashes, and clearance constraints.

Manage procurement strategy for specialized materials such as structural steel, hangar door systems, crane systems, and aviation-grade MEP installations.

Lead project reporting to senior management and clients, providing regular updates on progress, financial status, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.

Minimum 812 years of project management experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, with direct hands-on experience managing airport hangar construction.

Proven expertise in wide-span steel structural systems, high-clearance structural erection, and aviation-specific construction requirements.

Strong technical understanding of heavy MEPF integration within industrial or aviation environments.

Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar projects within live airport environments, with strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
