We are seeking an experienced Project Financial Controller to coordinate and deliver finance activities in line with local reporting requirements while working closely with both the local Finance team and the Group Finance Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent financial reporting while acting as a strategic partner to project teams and business leaders.
Duties & Responsibility
- Act as a project financial controller and business partner, providing end-to-end financial oversight across global projects.
- Deliver robust financial analysis, conduct project reviews, and support management in achieving financial targets and project performance objectives.
- Manage project financial data within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), including project setup, governance, maintenance, and closure in line with contractual requirements.
- Structure and maintain projects aligned with approved Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Create and manage project records following successful bid awards, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Maintain and update budgets, forecasts, work plans, and fee allocations throughout project lifecycles.
- Monitor project financial performance, including revenue, costs, and margins, and support corrective actions where required.
- Oversee billing processes, including client invoicing and subconsultant payments.
- Manage accounts receivable, collections, and reporting, ensuring strong cash flow management.
- Establish and maintain effective financial controls and governance across project finance processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely review of timesheets and project utilization data.
- Strengthen and support financial reporting, including Project Financial Status (PFS) reporting to Project Leads and senior management.
- Support the preparation of project financial reporting packs and management reports.
- Contribute to ERP transformation initiatives, including continuous improvement within D365 PMA and finance processes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in project finance, financial control, or project accounting.
- Experience within a Shared Services environment or consultancy/engineering industry is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), as well as exposure to Oracle or SAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive, results-driven mindset and strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide meaningful financial insights to project teams and leadership.
