The responsibilities associated with the position include:
Perform financial modelling and analysis of greenfield, brownfield and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) projects in the company's pipeline.
- Update and run cash-flow based project financial models to support decision-making which includes scenario analyses based on a combination of the following drivers: revenue-related, macroeconomic, regulatory, grid-related constraints, project and operational costs, project financing instruments, taxation, etc.
- Understand technology aspects of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems that are relevant to financing which includes estimation of annual energy production and variability amongst others.
Analyze the viability of the commercial schemes / business cases of greenfield, brownfield and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) projects.
- Determine viability of pricing methods such as feed-in tariff, auctions, bilateral negotiations and merchant into a project's revenue component.
- Analyze the deal structure that provides best value for SNAP.
- Analyze commercial contract design (where applicable) that best represents and protects approved business case.
- Evaluate strategies to improve business cases or deals such as tax optimization, portfolio building and sequencing and equity participants providing services to the project, etc.
Assist in the development and vetting of the commercial business case of the company's projects in the pipeline.
- Works with cross-functional teams to ensure that the projects being developed will sell power in the most profitable way.
- Support gate check reviews and vetting of the project.
Assist in the development of the following BD reports:
- Board/Investment Committee presentation decks.
- Project decision gate appraisal reports.
- Project financing requirements.
Requirements
Skills:
- Financial Modeling or Cashflow analysis
- Understanding of the Philippine Power Industry competitive landscape which includes knowledge of WESM, ancillary services, statutory and regulatory developments, key competitors and industry segments
- Excellent communication, oral, written and presentation skills
- Proficient in Excel, VBA experience is an advantage
Experience:
- At least 2 years experience in the energy market and/or experience in business development and financial modelling.
Education:
- Degree in Business, Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Sciences or related course
