Job Description

Treadwell has been applying excellent engineering strategies and design tactics since 1994 to extend both time and cost-efficient solutions to our clients across the globe. As we grow in competence over the years, we are now able to provide complete access (i.e. walkways and platforms) and structural solutions that are increasingly being used in wastewater treatment plants, public infrastructure, marine, and mineral sectors.

The Role:

The Project Estimator is responsible for assisting with sales and estimating duties. The Project Estimator will work closely with our Senior Estimators and Technical Sales Engineer to estimate custom and complex jobs. In this role, you will manage tickets, follow up on deals and quotes, attend sales huddles, and perform general administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reading and reviewing client-provided design drawings to understand scopes;
  • Undertaking take-offs and estimates, organising and reviewing complex costings with input from other departments and writing proposals/quotations;
  • Creating quotes by utilising product guides and calculating the required amount;
  • Contacting clients directly to seek further clarification in case of an information gap;
  • Following up on delivered quotes to customers;
  • Recording sales and order information into an ERP and CRM system;
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients in person and via telephone calls and emails;
  • Updating and maintaining customer contact details;
  • Taking direction from the Senior Estimator, Technical Sales Engineer, and Customer Service Coordinator;
  • Reviewing the after-quote revisions and email enquiries;
  • Attending and participating in regular sales huddles;
  • Generate and provide reports when required;
  • Reviewing your performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets;
  • Assist other sales team members if required;

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Previous experience working with US / Australian companies;
  • Experience using Planswift for preparing mark-ups, quantity takeoffs and cost estimates (minimum of 2+ years)
  • Has experience in the fabrication of steel or FRP.
  • A high attention to detail;
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of concept sales or sales estimation experience;
  • At least 1+ years of relevant industry experience;
  • Candidates with prior experience in Epicor and HubSpot will get a preference
  • Experience in selling a technical/engineered product will be advantageous.
