Job Description
A Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. They assist the Project Manager by managing documentation, ensuring work meets quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
The role involves technical support, problem-solving on site, cost and progress tracking, and maintaining communication between field and management teams.
Project Coordination
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Prepare and monitor Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Support material, labor, and equipment requisitions.
- Attend project coordination and progress meetings.
Project Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project records, drawings, correspondence, and reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and progress accomplishment reports.
- Monitor material deliveries, equipment utilization, and project progress.
- Assist in preparing management reports.
Technical Support
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and client specifications.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and assist in cost estimation.
- Support resolution of technical issues on-site.
Manpower & Project Support
- Monitor daily manpower deployment.
- Assist in manpower planning and scheduling.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare correspondence, and maintain project documentation.
- Update work schedules and monitor project milestones.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Monitor compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate material testing and documentation.
- Ensure timely submission and approval of project materials.
- Report site hazards and support safety implementation.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and site inspections.
- Support the Project Manager in resolving project concerns and maintaining strong working relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering course.
- Experience in construction project coordination is an advantage.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, project documentation, and scheduling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project is an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Experience in Ports and Offshore construction
