Job Summary
As a Project Engineer (Geodetic /Civil Engineer), you will be responsible for managing all surveying activities for assigned projects. You will lead the geodetic surveying team, ensure accurate data collection and interpretation, and provide technical support for project planning, execution, and completion. This role demands strong technical knowledge, leadership, and the ability to coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to meet project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the geodetic surveying team.
- Conduct surveys to determine exact positions, measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, volumes, contours, and other land surface features.
- Collect and validate survey data using surveying equipment (total station, GPS, level, etc.).
- Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and safekeeping of all surveying instruments.
- Analyze and interpret collected data to ensure adherence to project specifications and geodetic standards.
- Verify the accuracy of all mathematical calculations related to survey work.
- Prepare survey plans, drawings, and technical documents for submission and project use.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding survey findings and project status.
- Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and progress monitoring.
- Identify and address potential survey issues before they affect the project timeline or quality.
- Submit weekly progress reports and ensure timely delivery of survey outputs.
- Ensure the surveying team complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
- Perform other related duties necessary for the successful execution of geodetic engineering tasks.
Qualifications
- Licensed Geodetic/Civil Engineer.
- Knows how to use and operate various surveying equipment (total station, GPS, level, etc.).
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team of surveying aides.
- Ability to focus and deliver results under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on site depending on project location.
- Willing to travel frequently to different project sites as needed.
