About Us

JOB OVERVIEW

The Project Engineer – Dredging is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, supervision, and execution of dredging and marine construction activities associated with a hydropower dam or pumped storage project. This includes reservoir dredging, intake and tailrace dredging works, sediment removal, channel development, temporary marine access facilities, and associated water-based construction activities.

The role works closely with contractors, marine specialists, survey teams, environmental consultants, and project management personnel to ensure dredging operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, environmental requirements, and schedule commitments.

The ideal candidate has experience in dredging and marine works for hydropower, pumped storage, port, or heavy civil projects, including sheet pile cofferdams, wharfs, jetties, and related waterfront infrastructure.

THE ROLE

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of dredging operations for reservoirs, intake structures, tailrace areas, channels, and other water conveyance systems.
  • Coordinate daily site activities with dredging contractors, marine engineers, survey teams, environmental specialists, and construction personnel.
  • Supervise dredging operations and monitor compliance with approved methodologies, specifications, environmental permits, and safety requirements.
  • Support the mobilization, operation, and monitoring of dredging equipment, including cutter suction dredgers, backhoe dredgers, grab dredgers, barges, and associated marine plant.
  • Review dredging plans, method statements, technical submittals, risk assessments, and construction schedules.
  • Monitor dredging productivity, equipment utilization, material quantities, and progress against project milestones.
  • Coordinate and review bathymetric surveys, dredging quantity calculations, sediment assessments, and progress measurements.
  • Assist in managing disposal, containment, or beneficial reuse of dredged materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Support the construction and monitoring of temporary and permanent marine structures including sheet pile cofferdams, wharfs, jetties, marine access facilities, and waterfront support infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with civil, geotechnical, environmental, marine, and construction teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor quality, safety, environmental compliance, and construction performance.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly engineering reports, progress updates, and construction documentation.
  • Support testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out activities associated with dredging and marine works.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or a related discipline; PRC License preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in dredging, marine construction, waterfront infrastructure, hydropower, port, or heavy civil construction projects; 10+ years preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in dredging operations, marine earthworks, sediment removal, or water infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with sheet pile cofferdam construction, wharfs, jetties, quay walls, marine access structures, or similar waterfront infrastructure is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with dredging methodologies, equipment selection, productivity monitoring, and marine construction practices.
  • Knowledge of bathymetric surveys, dredging quantity calculations, sediment management, and marine geotechnical considerations.
  • Understanding of environmental controls and permitting requirements associated with dredging activities.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, marine equipment operators, and multidisciplinary construction teams.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, and construction reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical coordination skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in marine, coastal, riverine, reservoir, or water-based construction environments is an advantage.
  • Willing to work 100% onsite and be assigned to either Rizal or Laguna project locations.
