Overview

The Project Director (PD) will lead the enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) function and oversee the successful execution of strategic initiatives across Satellite Office. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with business priorities, governance standards, timelines, budgets and expected business outcomes.

The PD will provide enterprise-wide oversight across multiple concurrent projects and programs, ensuring consistency in delivery practices, reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement and operational execution. The role will work closely with executive leadership, department heads and project teams to drive disciplined execution and organizational alignment.

A strong emphasis will be placed on governance, delivery accountability, resource coordination, operational transparency and continuous improvement of project delivery practices across the organization.

The PD is expected to establish and mature PMO capabilities, implement structured delivery frameworks, and provide executive-level visibility into project performance, risks, dependencies and strategic outcomes.

This is a leadership role requiring strong organizational capability, operational discipline, executive communication skills and the ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

PMO Leadership & Governance

Establish and lead the enterprise PMO function across Satellite Office

Develop and maintain project governance frameworks, standards, templates and delivery methodologies

Implement enterprise-wide project management processes and reporting standards

Establish project lifecycle management practices covering initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure

Maintain centralized portfolio visibility across all enterprise initiatives

Develop and maintain enterprise project dashboards and executive reporting mechanisms

Ensure projects comply with governance, financial, operational and reporting requirements

Project Delivery & Execution

Provide oversight and leadership to project managers and cross-functional delivery teams

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within approved budgets

Drive accountability for project milestones, deliverables and business outcomes

Support resolution of delivery blockers, escalations and operational challenges

Ensure project documentation, reporting and governance artifacts are maintained consistently

Monitor delivery quality and implementation readiness across initiatives

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

Act as the primary PMO liaison to executive leadership and senior stakeholders

Provide regular executive-level reporting on project portfolio performance

Facilitate strategic planning discussions related to enterprise initiatives

Ensure clear communication of project objectives, timelines, risks and dependencies

Build strong cross-functional relationships to support effective execution

Support business leaders in translating strategic objectives into executable initiatives

Resource & Financial Oversight

Monitor enterprise project resource allocation and capacity planning

Support prioritization of resources across competing initiatives

Work closely with Finance and business leaders to monitor project budgets and financial performance

Track project expenditure, forecast variances and delivery impacts

Ensure appropriate financial governance and reporting across initiatives

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

Establish enterprise risk management practices for project delivery

Maintain centralized project and portfolio risk registers

Ensure mitigation plans are developed and actively managed

Drive lessons learned and post-implementation review practices

Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, governance and reporting maturity

Continuously refine PMO operating practices and project delivery methodologies

Key Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Information Systems, Technology or related discipline

Minimum 8–10 Years Of Experience In

Project management

Program management

PMO leadership

Enterprise transformation

Strategic initiative delivery

Proven experience managing multiple concurrent enterprise initiatives

Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional delivery teams in complex environments

Experience working closely with executive leadership and senior stakeholders

Hands-on familiarity with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, AI productivity tools

Understanding of how AI can improve productivity, reporting, documentation & knowledge management

Certifications

The following certifications are highly desirable PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma, PMO or portfolio management certifications

The Project Director will be expected to establish and monitor enterprise delivery metrics and PMO effectiveness measures. KPIs and reporting dashboards will be used to provide executive visibility into project performance and organizational delivery maturity.
