The Role

The Head of BU Project Delivery for Software Services is a senior manager level and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects and programs by overseeing operational execution, aligning delivery with strategic business unit objectives, and optimizing financial performance. The DBPM owns a revenue collection target shared with the business unit head. This position requires a dynamic individual capable of bridging strategic oversight with hands-on performance tracking, fostering client relationships, and driving the business unit's strategy executions. The DBPM is instrumental in delivering value to clients by maintaining committed project deliveries, ensuring profitability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement.

Your Team

You will report directly to the Business Unit Head, collaborating closely with:

  • Governance and Project Delivery Teams for successful project execution.
  • Resource Management for efficient allocation and fulfillment.
  • Technical Governance to drive continuous improvement in delivery.
  • Sales and Pre-Sales Teams to guide delivery strategies and strengthen win rates.
  • Executive Leadership to align business goals, progress, and strategic direction.

Your Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight

  • Aligns project and program objectives with overall business strategy and client outcomes.
  • Partners with executive leadership and governance teams to identify growth and innovation opportunities.
  • Ensures optimal resource allocation and financial performance at the business unit level.

Delivery Management

  • Oversees planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent projects using Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methods.
  • Coordinates cross-functional teams to achieve milestones and resolve dependencies or risks.
  • Acts as an escalation point for critical delivery challenges across the organization.

Performance Management

  • Defines and tracks key KPIs such as profitability, delivery efficiency, defect rates, and client satisfaction.
  • Uses data-driven analysis to identify inefficiencies and improvement areas.
  • Prepares and presents regular performance reports and insights to executives and clients.

Financial Performance

  • Monitors budgets, forecasts costs, and manages project profitability and revenue recognition.
  • Partners with finance and PMO teams to ensure budget accuracy and financial targets are met.
  • Identifies and mitigates financial risks or inefficiencies across accounts.

Continuous Improvement

  • Leads root-cause analyses to address delivery challenges and implement corrective actions.
  • Introduces frameworks and tools that enhance delivery quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and ongoing improvement across teams.

Client and Stakeholder Management

  • Serves as the escalation point for key client issues and ensures clear, transparent communication.
  • Collaborates with account managers to manage client expectations on timelines and deliverables.
  • Strengthens long-term client relationships through proactive engagement and successful delivery outcomes.

About You

You are/have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10+ years in project/program management, delivery management, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects or programs with a focus on delivery excellence and financial performance.
  • Strong understanding of project and program management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a data-driven mindset for identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to balance long-term objectives with short-term priorities.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
