Company Description General Metal Container Corporation of the Philippines (GEMECO) is a leading producer of tin cans that support safe, convenient, and environmentally responsible food packaging. The company invests in continuous training for its workforce of around six hundred team members, many of whom have decades of experience in can manufacturing.
Role Description The Production Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at GEMECO's main plant in Quezon City. This role oversees daily production operations to ensure that output targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. The Production Supervisor coordinates with planning and maintenance teams to execute production schedules, allocate resources, and minimize downtime. Responsibilities include leading and coaching production staff, monitoring line performance, resolving operational issues, and implementing process improvements. The role also involves maintaining accurate production records, enforcing company policies, and supporting continuous training and development initiatives on the shop floor.
Qualifications
- Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, coaching, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution.
- Experience in production planning and managing production schedules to meet volume, quality, and delivery targets.
- Solid background in production management, including resource allocation, process optimization, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams, giving clear instructions, and preparing concise reports.
- Relevant experience in manufacturing or industrial operations; experience in metal packaging or fast-moving production lines is an advantage.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, quality systems, and basic lean or continuous improvement concepts.
- Ability to work on-site in Quezon City on a full-time schedule, including shifting hours if required by operations.
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
