What You'll Do
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the operative management of the assigned production area, ensuring the efficient build of UPS products and its sub-assemblies in accordance with the required quality standard and customer demand whilst fostering a safe work environment.
- Assist the Production Manager in setting targets and drive the execution of actions to fulfill those targets
- Supervise all-encompassing work activities in the assigned production area
- Direct operators to obtain maximum productivity and efficiency, assuring attendance and proper manning
- Comply to and deploy the prescribed processes and methods to ascertain that the products assembled conform to established specifications and quality standards
- Accomplish the required production output daily through periodic monitoring and addressing timely the identified constraints
- Monitor the performance of operators and be able to develop them through coaching, motivation and strongly engaging them, and in like manner, counselling and disciplining them when necessary
- Conduct tier meetings and communicate plans and strategies effectively throughout the department and with the support team members
- Work with the support teams to address operational issues, including those highlighted by the operators, and propose and/or implement improvement actions
- Administer the company and production department's policies and procedures, explaining the necessities of new ones as they are implemented
- Enforce safety standards, rules and procedures, including compliance to PPE; highlight and/or address unsafe conditions and carry out a clean and organized work area per 5S standards
- Initiate and support continuous improvement ideas, activities and projects
- Prepare daily, weekly and other periodic reports of production activities
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Production Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or management
- At least 5 years experience in a production supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality/improvement systems
- Excellent leadership, people management and communication skills
- Focused, analytical, systematic, keen to details, and with high tolerance for stress
- Ability to work in a dynamic and complex environment and deliver results
- Team player and can work well with others
- Punctual and with high sense of urgency and responsibility
