Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists the production manager/senior production supervisor in creating and maintaining a shop floor condition that fosters and promotes safety, quality, lean thinking, process reliability, employee involvement, continuous improvement. Embodies a desire to achieve Advantek goals and objectives and a commitment to meet customer needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises and directs the assigned shift's employees adherence to work instructions, procedures and standards in order to produce quality products that meet customer demands in a cost-effective manner.
  • Assists the Sr Production Supervisor in generating an optimal production manpower scheduling aligned with the planning group and ensures that the information is shared with the setup and production personnel clearly and in organized manner
  • Establishes the correct priorities and direct activities of the set-up group in the given shift to ensure a smooth and cost effective workflow. Reviews and analyzes line leaders reports, and know how to effectively control materials usage on the floor at optimum level.
  • Uses relevant data, appropriate statistical tools and sound technical judgment to understand thoroughly, resolve quickly and prevent effectively problems and operational delays from occurring. Institutionalize, fixe and measure continuous improvement.
  • Implements and leads adherence to ISO standards, lean manufacturing practices, 5S and other systems that institutionalizes continuous improvement
  • Ensures the safety, motivation and continued development of his subordinates through proper training, coaching and adherence to written controlled procedures.
  • Uses Advantek written procedures and Work Instructions to train employees in following safety guidelines to insure a safe and clean work environment. Measures training effectiveness of these employees by assessing their ability to perform duties per Advantek's procedures. Understand and be able to conduct a Process Audit.
  • Understands the importance of QA, the Dim Lab and the Receiving Inspection processes and how they relate to their role to meet the needs of the business. Knows how to use the samples and run the Mycrona to gauge whether a product is acceptable or not. Understands the Golden Sample concept.
  • Works with the Setup group on staging and setting up and how they relate to their area of responsibility. Understands the concepts of Tool inventory and tracking, SMED, changeover, and all the related processes to be able to produce the desired carrier tape.
  • Understands the Maintenance Processes and the importance of having a good Asset Management System. Knows what the MP2 system is. Understands concepts such as PM, Spares Inventory, Work Order, and how they relate to ensuring high operational efficiency and process reliability.
  • Works with the planning group to develop the production schedule and ensuring information in shared with the setup and production personnel for any changes in tools, press assignments. Studies the D365 system. Own the work order process up to closing.
  • Works with HR in understanding how training, coaching, teaching, appraising, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving employee conflicts are essential components for effective supervision.
  • Generates production manpower scheduling.
  • Resolves pending IVRs in timely manner. Facilitate closure of issued ICARs.
  • Identifies production activities that can interact with environment leading to the generation and review of environmental aspects and impacts.
  • Participates in collegial planning for policies, procedures and systems, problem solving and performance monitoring through participation in standing and ad hoc committees, task forces and project teams.
  • Performs such other duties and responsibilities analogous, germane or related to and / or implied from the above enumeration of duties and responsibilities.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must have basic knowledge of quality control, team organization, and front line supervision.
  • Computer literate and a working knowledge of a quality system using statistical process control and ERP system.
  • Excellent open communication style, with the ability to interpret and communicate, both oral and written, in a variety of manners, no matter the size and make up of the group or the distance in English.
  • Ability to analyze, deal with and solve problems with a variety of variables within the company guidelines using best practice keeping in mind the needs of the employee, the customer, the community and Advantek.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and five (5) years experience preferably in manufacturing and electronic industry in a supervisory capacity.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for the supervision and operation of the production department per shift.
  • Authority to:
  • Shutdown machine or process.
  • Impose disciplinary sanctions of direct report.
  • Construct manpower scheduling and allocation.
  • Release material.
  • Enforce safety and environmental standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Physical ability to oversee all work areas.
  • Considerable PC computer work at desk.
  • Requires exposure to noise levels and machinery in work areas
